What are essential oils and why are they used?

Essential oils have been used for thousands of years for their multitude of health benefits and practical uses for mental, emotional and physical health. Why doTERRA? Can I just use any essential oils?
We love doTERRA oils for their purity and potency. These oils do not compare to those you may have purchased at the grocery store or online (believe us, we’ve done this!). Scary fact: Many oils have fillers (only 5-10% Essential Oil, 80 to 90% synthetics) and may have warnings to not use topically or orally.
